Air Pollution

We have been learning about air pollution from Unit 10: Transport and Communication.

Here are some photos of air pollution in Beijing, China.
Cars can barely be seen through the smog as they drive along a road in Beijing after a hazardous blanket enveloped the city
This is how the city of Beijing looks like everyday. Would you like to breathe this type of air everyday?

Danger: The smog, pictured today in the iconic Tiananmen Square in Beijing, can cause serious lung problems
The people of Beijing have to wear a mask that covers their mouth because the air isn't good to breathe.

Health risk: Pedestrians wear protective masks as they cross a road amidst smog in Beijing
More people of Beijing who are wearing masks that cover their mouth and nose because it is difficult to breathe because of the air pollution in the city.

Smog: Cars travel on an overpass amid thick haze in the morning in Beijing
Morning traffic in Beijing. You can't see any landscape because there's too much air pollution! Looks like the cars are driving in a cloud than on a highway.

Here are two photos of Madrid's air pollution:

Madrid's city skyline. You can't see the buildings clearly because of air pollution.

Another photo of Madrid's city skyline with air pollution.

Which city is more dangerous to live in because of so much air pollution? Beijing or Madrid?
